"I didn't want to board the plane..." Feyi Agagu reveals how he survived and why Agagu’s casket was intact after plane crash

In a recent interview with vanguard, a close family friend of Feyi, son of late Chief Agagu, who is one of the survivors of the ill fated Associated Airlines flight, disclosed how Feyi and the other survivors cheated death and why Agagu's casket was intact!
Below is what a family insider Feyi spoke to said;
“The young man said that once they got to the tarmac before boarding and once he sighted the plane, what struck him was the seemingly very old look of the plane. Feyi said he didn’t like the looks of the plane. He also said but for the importance and significance of the trip, his inner sense didn’t feel comfortable boarding the plane.

“In fact, Feyi said he told another survivor, Femi Akinsanya, that the plane looked too old and he didn’t feel like boarding. But Feyi said he was told not to get himself worked up needlessly since this was not going to be his first time aboard a plane neither would this be the first old-looking plane that he would board. That was how he said he boarded the plane”.
“Feyi recounted how he and Femi Akinsanya boarded the plane and moved straight to the back end to take up seats. Why Feyi chose the back seat”, the source said, “was more a function of his state of mind about the state of the plane rather than a preference for taking a back seat.
“When they sat down, Feyi told me that he and Femi simply prayed that they should just take off and land safely, oblivious of what lay ahead of them. “Feyi said once they took off, everything happened so fast. What he also told me was that both he and Femi noticed what looked like a crack not far from where they sat at the rear end of the plane.

“He said everything happened so fast that by the time the plane crashed on the ground, it was that crack that had been noticed earlier that transformed into a gapping exit point upon impact on the ground.
“Feyi said the exit point created was where he and Femi escaped through”.
Also, explaining why the casket carrying Agagu’s corpse was intact after the plane crashed on Thursday morning, it was disclosed that the casket was latched to the hooks in the cargo compartment of the plane and was placed in the rear end of the plane.
People who sat at the back of the plane survived the crash, so the casket, which was kept at the back also survived the crash.

APC Leader Bola Tinubu Visits Crash Survivors

TINUBU

Former Lagos State Governor, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu yesterday visited the survivors of the Associated Aviation crash at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH), where they are being treated.
The aircraft which was conveying the body of the former Ondo State governor, Dr. Olusegun Agagu and some others to Akure crashed on Thursday after taking off in Lagos.
Shortly after landing at the Murtal Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, the leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) visited the victims. He was accompanied by his wife Senator Oluremi, the interim spokesperson of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaji Lai Mohammed, Speaker of Lagos State House of Assembly, Mr. Adeyemi Ikuforiji and other party stalwarts.

The former Lagos governor spent some time at the ward.
He described the death of the former Ondo State governor as a great loss to the country, describing Agagu as a good man he will miss despite their partisan differences.
He said Nigerians should give thanks to God for sparing the lives of Agagu’s son: Feyi and the son in law in the crash, affirming that government needs to fix the corruption and rot in the aviation sector.
Speaking in an interview on arrival at the airport, he described the crash as a national disaster, and called on the Federal Government to urgently overhaul the aviation sector.
He said until professionals are put in place to oversee the industry, the country may not meet the global standard of aviation it desires.
Rather than put the right personnel and equipment in place including a world standard runway, government he said has used the aviation sector to victimise perceived political enemies , whose aircraft are either grounded or recalled mid air.
He cited examples of the Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi and the Edo State Governor, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole.
Asiwaju said “Agagu was a committed family man. Tunji (Okusanya) was a close friend of every one of us. But God has done one thing, has shown us His wonders. In the midst of all of these, Feyi Agagu survived, his brother in law survived.
“He has given room for us to give thanks to God. Nigeria’s aviation sector is a risk, we have never allowed professionals to run the Aviation industry, and we created too much bureaucracy. Where are the professionals, where are the engineers? What is the age of the plane and the records of maintenance? But when they have already compromised the office, they waste our valuable lives and time.”
He lamented that corruption has crippled the system, as according to him, “We have to remove corruption that is a cancer in our society. We have to remove ethnicity and clannishness in our society; it is a shame on our society.”

Africa as you've never seen it before: Clever comparison shows it's really as big as China, India, the United States AND most of Europe put together

This picture graphic shows the shear enormity of the African continent by showing how many other countries fit inside it

This picture graphic shows the shear enormity of the African continent by showing how many other countries fit inside it.
It covers the same surface as 13 countries - including the United States, China and India - and the whole of Eastern Europe.
The UK also features on the graphic - covering the island of Madagascar.
In total, Africa is more than 30million sq km.
But this graphic illustrates that its size is not shown accurately on a standard Mercator map, where countries in the centre appear smaller than they are.
According to designer IO9, accuracy is compromised for neatness and 'straight lines'.
This graphic shows Africa is bigger than the land masses of the US, China, India, Mexico, Peru, France, Spain, Papua New Guinea, Sweden, Japan, Germany, Norway, Italy, New Zealand, the UK, Nepal, Bangladesh and Greece put together.
It also lists the top 100 countries in the world in terms of biggest land size.
Russia (more than 17 km-squared), Canada, China, the US and Brazil make up the top five.

A standard Mercator world map does not truly reflect the landmass of Africa

Ota Benga - The Horrifying Story Of A Human On Display In A Zoo

Ota Benga - The horrifying story of a human on display in a zoo.

Ota Benga (circa 1883– March 20, 1916) was a Congolese pygmy known for being featured in an anthropology exhibit at the Louisiana Purchase Exposition in St. Louis, Missouri in 1904, and in a controversial human zoo exhibit in 1906 at the Bronx Zoo. Benga had been freed from African slave traders by the missionary Samuel Phillips Verner, a businessman recruiting Africans for the Exposition. He traveled with Verner to the United States. At the Bronx Zoo, Benga had free run of the grounds before and after he was "exhibited" in the zoo's Monkey House.

Displays of non-Western humans as examples of "earlier stages" of human evolution were common in the early 20th century, when racial theories were frequently intertwined with concepts from evolutionary biology.

Ota shared his cage with an orangutan and was one of the main attractions at the zoo. This picture was not taken in the cage as zoo did not allow Ota to be photographed in the monkey house. Zookeepers scattered bones around him to create an impression that he ate human flesh. A delegation of African-American ministers finally rescued Ota. He remained for another 10 years in US before committing suicide. The despicable fact that another human being could be a portrait and treated as an animal in the 20th Century is horrendous. This part of history should never be repeated again.
